Barcelona scouts were present on Monday night during Liverpool under-21 match against their Leicester City counterparts. And they definitely were up to no good, as their plan was to come see 2 youngsters, that can be rightly described as Liverpool’s hottest prodigies, in action. Next thing you know, both are long gone, off to La Masia and Barca B, and getting prepared to break into the star-studded Barcelona senior team. Or maybe it is an assertion too early to be made.

Liverpool under-21 captain, Cameron Brannagan and the ‘next Steven Gerrard’, Jordan Rossiter have both caught the eyes of Barcelona handler, Luis Enrique following stellar performances for the youth team. The skipper has already begun to cut his teeth with the senior team this term, featuring in cup games, and performing well enough to get on Klopp’s future plans for the club. He earned himself a 2-year deal in the process and got a lot of positive comments from the German tactician. Good enough to attract Barcelona. Rarely happens.

A new Rossiter deal has only been delayed because of his many injuries, but the quality of the 19-year-old is top notch enough to have attracted top guns like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Udinese. Peradventure, Barcelona decide to make a serious offer for the duo, then Liverpool can forget to see them grow at Anfield, as no young player will reject the prospects of playing for the best club in the world. And Liverpool can’t even cash in or out on them. FIFA rules for the transfer of under-aged players will see both of them available for just 500,000 Pounds.
