This World Cup star is available for 60 million Pounds. Will Chelsea make a move to land him?

The Chelsea squad will definitely take on a new shape next season. After the club sealed Conte’s appointment with an official statement yesterday, there will be a shakeup in the lineup, and the Summer transfer window promises to be busy for the West London side. A player that would definitely light up the Blues’ midfield, if he arrives is Colombia international and Real Madrid star, James Rodriguez. The 24-year-old gained global recognition after his exploits at the 2014 World Cup.

However, Chelsea couldn’t get hands on him back then, and they settled for the 2nd best Colombian player at the tournament; Cuadrado. The former Fiorentina winger failed to adapt to the club’s and EPL’s style of play and is currently on loan at Juventus. As far as getting Rodriguez goes, the Blues have a 2nd chance, as Madrid will most definitely listen to offers for the dynamic midfielder by Summer. He is currently considered surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu, and a move away is certain after he found himself become more of a squad player.

Manchester United and PSG are also interested in his services, and after it was revealed he was bought for 60 million Pounds, any side that tables the amount will surely get him. The new TV rights deal should surely help Chelsea make a move for his services, as he will surely fit into Conte’s plan. The Italian is fond of a 5-man and 4-man midfield, and the South American can bring top quality to the lot. But the question remains if Chelsea will be willing to splash such huge amount on him.
