But West Ham are determined not to let him slip away even though he already has two years left on his current deal.
West Ham have offered him a new long term deal which will represent a significant increase on his current terms.
Oxford caught the eye at the start of the season when he played at Arsenal on the opening day.
He can operate in midfield but long term is regarded as one of England’s most promising centre halves.
