West Ham United have been linked with a summer move for Bournemouth winger Max Gradel but face a battle with Inter Milan to land him.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Slaven Bilic is interested in the 28-year-old Ivorian as he builds a squad which will, hopefully, be in European action next season.
The Irons have not given up hopes of a Champions League spot as they currently sit in sixth with 59 points, one behind fifth-placed Manchester United, and they will need additions to the squad next season.
It’s also believed that Serie A giants Inter Milan are set to offer £11.8m for the winger who has missed most of the season with a knee injury and only featured a dozen times, scoring once and providing two assists, whether the Hammers would see that sort of fee as value for money remains to be seen.
Manuel Lanzini has often played out wide despite not being a natural winger, Dimitri Payet has sometimes played out wide, Victor Moses is only on loan and Michail Antonio is still deemed fairly raw.
The Croatian tactician will probably seek a new pacey winger to give his side added balance and more options ahead of next season, and Gradel is a player who could be ideal for fulfilling that role.
The Ivorian international is blessed with natural pace, quick feet and an ability to pick out accurate crosses and could be an excellent addition to Slaven Bilic’s in-form team.
