Liverpool might have to stick with Belgium International, Simon Mignolet as 1st-choice goalie for the coming season after German newspaper, BILD revealed that supposed summer target and FC Cologne shot stopper, Timo Horn is actually yet to get a formal offer from the Merseysiders. The German goalie came under Klopp’s radar following his brilliant displays for the side, with the German coach seeing him as a potential replacement for the error-laden Mignolet. Mignolet has been solely responsible for costing Liverpool as much as 8 points this term after his personal errors resulted in goals that made the team draw 4 times.
Barcelona’s Champions League keeper, Ter Stegen has also been linked with an Anfield move, but the Horn’s chances always looked higher. At least until he revealed that,
“ The fact is that there is still no concrete offer from Liverpool ”
Highly rated in Germany and regarded as one of the safest hands in the Bundesliga, it was rumoured that a £7million bid was being prepared by the Reds for 22-year-old towards a summer transfer arrival, but the goal custodian’s comments might mean the news could have been another fake news. However, a move to Liverpool shouldn’t and can’t be completely ruled out as Horn admits he would surely consider a move by saying thus,
“But I have always said that I will sit down to address it when an offer from a top club comes.”
