Serie A prolific scorer to join Manchester United next season, BUT on one condition

Gonzalo “Pipita” Higuain is ready to call it quits with Napoli by Summer and move to United only if one thing happens; Mourinho coaching at the Old Trafford next season. Reports claim Jose Mourinho met the Argentine’s brother cum agent to discuss terms of a possible transfer when the Summer transfer window opens. The erstwhile Chelsea boss has been constantly linked with taking over the Old Trafford dugout next season, and that would have been the only motivation keeping the Portuguese out of job since January.

The 53-year-old is already making plans ahead of his prospective unveiling, and he wants the Serie A highest goal scorer of the season to spearhead his attack. Papita has 27 league goals thus far, followed far off by his compatriot, Dybala at 14. The 28-year-old goal return this season has been excellent, and he could help fire Napoli to a Serie A title, as they are just 3 points behind Juventus. Mourinho is definitely willing to reunite with his former charge, having earlier worked with him at Real Madrid.

Higuain would come at a cost, 85 million Pounds in transfer fees, which is his buyout clause as he still has 2 years remaining on his current contract with the Italian giants. A 5-year deal worth 8 million Pounds annually is on the table, and that would see him earn 153,000 Pounds in weekly wages. United could be willing to break the bank to secure the services of such a highly-rated and proven goal machine, but it all comes down to who is in charge of the club by Summer.
