One of Jurgen Klopp’s ultimate goal is to have Mario Gotze play for him at Liverpool. Having groomed the 23-year-old at the Signal Iduna Park, his departure to Bayern Munich didn’t allow Klopp see much of his growth. However, the German handler is pushing earnestly for a Summer transfer move, and Manchester United can be of great help to his mission. The Red Devils want Borussia Dortmund’s skipper, Matt Hummels in Summer, but they face stiff competition from Bayern Munich. Hummels will certainly leave Dortmund at the end of the season, but his next destination isn’t known yet.
According to German daily, Bild, Dortmund will allow him move to Bayern if the capital club will agree to send Mario Gotze the other way. Munich are tabling an offer of 23.5 million Pounds, and allowing Gotze leave for free might not go down well with them. However, Gotze is considered surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena and he is also sure of an exit this Summer. If Bayern agree to send him back to Dortmund, then Hummels will arrive and Klopp can forget about having a Gotze reunion party.
But if the Red Devils outbid the Bavarians for Hummels’ signature, Liverpool still have a very great chance of bringing Gotze to Anfield. A Champions League qualifications might just help United out, as the World Cup winning veteran defender wouldn’t be keen for a move to a club without the European elite competition. The excitement of playing in arguably the best league in the world might also sway Hummels towards Old Trafford. Gotze in Liverpool will help Klopp deliver his style of play to the smallest details on the pitch, and the German winger has all it takes to help return Liverpool to the very top. But it all depends on Manchester United.
