Marca reports, ” no Spanish side can compete with Liverpool for signature of midfield target”

Long-term Liverpool target and Spanish midfield ace, Ignacio Camacho has been continually linked with an Anfield move, and this summer seems a very realistic target. The 25-year-old former Spain youth international was at the Melwood training centre earlier this year with his agents, and contract talks had began ever since. However, Valencia have also entered the race and it looked like Camacho is keen to remain in Spain. The midfielder still claims he is yet to receive offers from any club and he wants to take his time.

But as revealed by Sports Witness, trusted Spanish publication, Marca says no Spanish side will be able to compete with Liverpool if the Reds so desire to have the midfielder. Camacho has a £10million buyout clause, one which could still increase as Malaga are keen to cash in with profit if he decides to leave. Liverpool are willing to activate the fees and would also be almost having a better wages ready for him.

Klopp is looking at a squad overhaul come summer, and the midfield position is a place that needs strengthening. The long-term future of trio, Joe Allen, James Milner, and Lucas Leiva aren’t certain, especially given the ages of the last 2. Camacho provides long-term cover and experience, and that could see the Reds pursue his services by summer.
