Manchester United given green light to pursue the signing of La Liga’s best holding midfielder?

The Red Devils might succeed in getting one of the best defensive midfielders this present footballing generation has to offer by Summer. Micheal Carrick is ageing and getting tired, Bastian Schweinsteiger is always injured, while Morgan Schneiderlin’s “top notch” quality isn’t good enough to earn him a place on the French national team’s bench. Manchester United really need a better option, and Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets is the big picture.

The Spain international’s deal and contract extension talks with Barcelona are currently stalling, and a move away from the Camp Nou might just happen this Summer. After having won it all at both club and country level, the 27-year-old could be in search of a new adventure and competition away from the comfort of Spain, and the EPL sure attracts a couple of La Liga players, with Alves already declaring his love to play in England top-flight league before retiring. The Theatre of Dreams is definitely an attractive destination, and the Red Devils might hit the jackpot with his signing.

Trusted sources revealed that as far as his future at the Camp Nou goes, there has been breakdown in contract talks with the Blaugrana side. His current deal expires in 2019, but the club is refusing to honour their agreement of handing him a new and improved deal. A further breakdown could give the Red Devils a chance to bring the highly-rated midfield ace to Old Trafford, and they must pounce on it when it comes knocking. A Busquets at the heart of United’s midfield can go a long way in the aims at title shots.
