The Reds are looking to boost up their frontline with the addition of quality strikers when the Summer transfer window opens. With Benteke set to depart, a worthy forward has been found in AS Roma’s Umar Sadiq as his replacement. The 19-year-old Nigerian has only appeared 6 times in the Serie A this season, netting twice. But his goal ratio for the youth side has been extraordinary. Already been compared with Arsenal and Nigeria legend, Kanu Nwankwo, the former Abuja FC striker has 19 goals in 18 games for the Serie A side’s youth team.
His great form in front of goal has seen his attract a couple of European giants, and a move away from Italy next season looks most likely. Still a property of Serie B side, Spezia, his 5-year loan term at Roma has definitely seen him get better and clinical, and a return to the lower division is out of the options. Arsenal and Tottenham are also keen to secure the services of the teenage sensation who scored 26 goals in 24 games for the youth team of Spezia last season.
Liverpool will be hoping to have as much quality as possible in a forward department that currently has Sturridge, Origi and the injured Danny Ings. A return to the Champions League next term looks to be on the books after they secured a Semi Finals berth with Villareal in the Europa League. Klopp will definitely go all out to sign the best players out there by Summer, and as reported by Italian news outlet, Gazzetta dello Sport, Sadiq Umar could as well get added to the shopping list.
