Liverpool target doesn’t want an Anfield move, already finding apartment in rivals’ city

Liverpool can forget about getting Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan for next season as the Armenia international has made his decision and preference for Arsenal known. The midfielder currently tops the assists chart in Europe at 20, and has been linked with a reunion with Klopp at Anfield by Summer, but the 27-year-old would prefer an Emirates move instead. Reports reveal an apartment is already being found for the dynamic midfielder in North London, and a move to Arsenal come Summer looks almost very certain.

With a year left on his current deal at the Signal Iduna Park, the Armenian skipper isn’t willing to sign a contract extension and has already rejected an improved deal worth 6.4 million Pounds in yearly wages. Arsenal are ready to offer 8 million Pounds and are more than willing to meet his demands after having placed him under their radars for months. Wenger is relishing an Ozil-Mkhitaryan combination in his attack and hopes to make the deal a reality after his side failed to perform up to expectations this term.

The 20-goal versatile player is also being targeted by the Serie A Old Lady, with Massimiliano Allegri an admirer of his qualities. But Arsenal could now be clear favourites after his move to a place in London points to the fact that he isn’t relishing a reunion with Klopp. The German tactician will now have to look elsewhere for a quality midfielder and winger, as having Mkhitaryan adorn the Liverpool colours next season is more like a failed mission already.
