Even as Liverpool prepare for this Summer transfer window, it hasn’t stopped Klopp from making preparations for the upper Summer transfers. The Daily Mail reveals that the former Borussia Dortmund manager is keen to reunite recently-capped U.S.A international, Christian Pulisic with him at Anfield even when it is obvious he would remain with the Bundesliga side next season. Despite being 17 years of age and in a side with stiff competition for playing time, Dortmund’s coach, Thomas Tuche has handed him 10 appearances this season.
Pulisic was first handed a senior team invitation by Klopp, and he has since started to grow into a potential great. The former U.S.A youth international netted 20 goals in 34 games for the country’s under-17, and has convinced the national team’s coach, Jurgen Klinsmann to earn a call-up to the senior team at such young age. Klopp is willing to have Pulisic under him once again, with that likely to happen in a very near future, and he has informed his scouts back in Germany to keep an eye on his development.
Although a move this Summer would surely do the young teenager good, as Liverpool have fielded more young players this season since Klopp arrived than Dortmund has. 6 under-21 players were fielded by the coach during last weekend’s game against Bournemouth, and next season could see more promotion of Liverpool age-grade teams’ players to the senior team. Klopp has revealed that youth players’ development is a major part of his plan for the club, and that shows why he is still interested in continuing from where he stopped with Christian Pulisic’s development.
