Manchester United have a great chance of finishing with a trophy this season after all. Their semi finals opponent, Everton aren’t quite a threat any longer. They were torn apart by Liverpool yesterday, and going by their poor current form, as opposed to Manchester United’s brilliant own, the Red Devils are favorites to progress to the finals. Either of Watford or Crystal Palace don’t have what it take to cause an upset when, and not if United get to the finals.
The Daily Star has confirmed that 2 of the squad’s players that will help see off competition on their way to the F.A Cup glory have handed the club an injury boost. 200-game capped veteran central back, Chris Smalling suffered a knock with 5 minutes remaining during the game against Crystal Palace, and there were fears he might not be fit enough to feature at the weekend. However, the player has revealed he is in good condition and has been cleared for the coming game against Everton. Smalling has been a consistent topnotch performer in a relatively poor season for the Red Devils, being a part of a defence that has conceded the 2nd least goals in the league. His presence against Lukaku on Saturday will help quell the dangers of the Belgium international.
With LVG withdrawing teenage sensation and revelation of the season, Marcus Rashford on the 60th minute, questions were raised over his fitness. But the Dutch handler has revealed that Rashford was substituted because he needs to be kept fresh against Everton. 7 goals in 13 games this season, the England youth international is quickly turning into a threat to opposition defenders, and he will no doubt make his impact as the Old Trafford side enters the closing stages of their F.A Cup campaign.
