EXPOSED: Rainieri Puts Call Through To Liverpool-Target In Attempt To Hijack Anfield Summer Move

The above quote is credited to Liverpool-target and Rennes forward, Ousmane Dembele as revealed by French newspaper, Ouest-France. The teenage sensation has lit up the Ligue 1 this term with his performances, and has been widely regarded as one of the best youngsters in Europe. With 12 goals and 5 assists in 25 league appearances, the 18-year-old has been identified by Klopp as a summer target. Liverpool have plans to make a £28million bid for Dembele, and the coach has reportedly contacted him personally to secure his services.

However, they face stiff competition from heavyweights like Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, and Tottenham for his signature. Dembele is bound to leave Rennes at the end of the season and Anfield seems the most likely of destinations. The fumbling Benteke is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season and Dembele is seen as better replacement. The£32.5million arrival has been firing blanks since the beginning of the season, and has reportedly fallen out with Klopp, making an exit at the end of the season probable.

The attack department is one Klopp would be strengthening ahead of the new season, and Dembele will be a great addition if he arrives over the summer transfer window.
