Conte is Poised to Sign Serie A Bomber

The latest transfer news by the Mirror claims that new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is confident of completing a £45m transfer for Napoli leading scorer Gonzalo Higuain, who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the beginning of the season.

World-class Argentine international has attracted the attention of several European top clubs, but Manchester United and Chelsea are believed to be most interested in the former Real Madrid ace.

The 28-year-old ex-Real Madrid star has already scored 36-goals in 44 appearances for the Serie A outfit this season, and he’s believed to have a release clause of around £79m.

Antonio Conte already told Chelsea officials that he wants to sign Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan but, the Italian will kick-off his reshaping of the Blues squad with the £45m signing of Argentine bomber.

The Blues have already made discreet enquires to sign the hitman and are hopeful of agreeing on a deal before Conte arrives in London.

Alongside with Argentina international, Chelsea are also interested in re-signing their former striker Romelu Lukaku, who also enjoyed a brilliant season with Everton. The Belgian striker is one of the highest scoring forwards in Premier League’s current campaign.
