Antonio Conte’s Chelsea Eyeing A Move For Ex-Liverpool Midfielder

Former Liverpool midfielder could return to Premier League as Conte holds initial talks with AC Milan.

According to Calcio Mercato, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are monitoring the situation of Spanish youngster Suso who has impressed in Serie A. The AC Milan winger has scored 6 goals and assisted another 7 this season and has attracted interest from all across Europe.

Juventus are also keen to acquire the services of Suso who made 20 appearances for Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers. The 23 year old has a contract with Milan till 2019 and Vincenzo Montella will be trying his best to hold on to the Spanish sensation.

The left footed winger plays on the right flank for Serie A giants AC Milan. He is equally adept at playing as an attacking midfielder and on the left flank. Suso joined Liverpool as a teenager from Spanish club Cadiz and was touted as a huge prospect. He joined AC Milan for € 1.3 million in 2015 in search of more first team opportunities.

Talking about his time at Liverpool, Suso said: “My contract was expiring, and [Liverpool’s] proposal to renew was not good.”

He added, “Certainly it was a special place, I joined when I was a kid and it seemed like a dream.”

He can certainly come back to haunt Liverpool fans if the deal materializes in the summer. They can only hope that a decent sell-on fee exists in Suso’s contract.

Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his squad as they prepare for life in the Champions League next season. Conte is keen to avail his services with Suso having Premier League experience under his belt. He could however cost Chelsea anything between £20-25 million this summer.
