Colombian striker from Serie A to solve West Ham United’s problems up front?

West Ham have reportedly enquired about the availability of Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel to help aid a toothless Hammers attack.

Luis Muriel (25) has a release clause of £24 million in his contract which expires in 2019. The Centre Forward has been in sensational form this season having scored 10 goals for Sampdoria. The versatile forward who can play on either flanks has assisted another 9 goals in 28 appearances this season.

West Ham have been struggling in the attacking department following the failure of Ashley Fletcher, Calleri and Simone Zaza. Record signing Andre Ayew has spent a major chunk of the season on the treatment table alongside Diafra Sakho. Andy Carroll has also been in and out of the team this season having struggled with injuries himself.

Carroll might be moving to Chinese Super League in the summer as West Ham look to sort out the striking department once and for all.

The Hammers have been linked with Premier League outcasts for their respective clubs, Daniel Sturridge and Lucas Perez in the past. Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea) and Carlos Bacca (AC Milan) also remain on the radar for the London based club.

Muriel was ecstatic to hear the links from West Ham United and other clubs from Italy, Spain and England. He added, “The future? I’m happy at Sampdoria, because we’ve won two derbies [against their city rivals Genoa] for the first time in 57 years.”

Time will tell as to who joins Slaven Bilic’s revolution come next season but West Ham are expected to go all guns blazing looking to add to their firepower up front.
