Club President Reacts to €35m West Ham Target’s Possible Departure

Starting the season rather poorly, Alexandre Lacazette, proving he wasn’t a one-season wonder, managed to turn things around for his club and himself with a great 2016.

West Ham United have been reported more than once to be looking for a new flagship striker in the summer, and with them being prepared to spend up to €35m to acquire him, Lacazette fits the bill perfectly.

The striker has bagged 20 goals this season and he is expected to be on the move this summer.

Along with the Hammers, Tottenham Hotspur, and La Liga giants Barcelona are said to be interested in the France international.

However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is determined to keep hold of the 24-year-old hitman – despite growing interest from European clubs.

“I would like to keep Alexandre Lacazette,” Aulas told RMC.

“I have met with the Barcelona president recently, he did not speak to me about Alex.”

Lacazette is probably Lyon’s most valuable asset, and they will fully intend on getting as much as possible for him.
