Exclusive reports from Spain have confirmed that Germany international and Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil, is ready to leave the Emirates this coming Summer if Wenger is still in charge for the new season. The 27-year-old is frustrated with the club’s failure to win major trophies and effectively compete for the EPL, and wants out after 3 seasons that have seen him win just the F.A and Community Shield Cups. A return to the Spanish capital is said to be on the books, as football leaks earlier revealed that Real Madrid have the chance to buy back.
The World Cup winner is in talks with his agents concerning the possibility of a La Liga return to one of Valencia, Sevilla or Atletico Madrid if a move to Real Madrid falls through. Barcelona have also been linked with the assist master, and he remains a target. Not willing to put pen to paper for a contract extension at Arsenal, Ozil’s decision to sign or not to could all boil down to the club’s decision concerning Wenger’s future in the dugout.
Currently with the highest number of assists in the EPL at 18, Ozil would definitely be doing better on another side, with Arsenal fans once joking about the German being too good for the mediocre squad. Despite winning during the weekend and hoping for a miracle, the Gunners are out of the title race after Leicester City maintained the 11-point lead after the win against Crystal Palace with 7 games to go. Ozil deserves a better side or, at least, a better coach that brings the desired results to the table. Ozil or Wenger? Arsenal must decide.
