According to the Express, Chelsea have set their sights on PSG key midfield star Blaise Matuidi.
The 29-year-old Matuidi has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in February with The Sun claiming a £39m offer was on the table.
And now, it has been reported by the Italian website CalcioMercatoWeb, that highly-demanded France international is the top target for incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who will take charge at Stamford Bridge after Euro 2016.
The Italian head coach hoped to bring world-class Serie A duo Paul Pogba Radja Nainggolan at Chelsea. However, their moves look unlikely.
The agent of Paul Pogba Mino Raiola claimed last week a deal wouldn’t happen, and Roma are said to be keen to hold onto Belgian, who is under contract until 2020.
Antonio Conte will surely need the reinforcement at Stamford Bridge as anchorman Ramires moved to China in winter and is yet to be replaced, and Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic’s future looks in doubt after an unconvincing display this season.
The French midfielder could be the perfect signing after a stellar campaign with PSG, making 30 League 1 games and helping PSG to claim another League title.
