The Daily Mail reports that Antonio Conte is heating up his interest in Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal, who worked with the Italian during the duo’s successful time together at Italian giants Juventus.
The Chilean international only joined the Bavarian outfit last summer and the German side, who will replace Pep Guardiola with Carlo Ancelotti this summer, are keen for the South American icon to remain at the club.
However, Vidal himself has hinted that he’d be open to a reunion with Conte at Chelsea and it isn’t the first time he’s been linked with a high-profile switch to the Premier League.
Arsenal were linked with his services last summer before he joined Bayern Munich and with changes expected in Bavaria after Ancelotti’s arrival, there’s a danger that Vidal may find himself surplus to requirements.
Vidal put in a heroic shift on Tuesday night as Bayern Munich overcame Benfica in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, which displayed the vast talents of Vidal once again.
The box-to-box midfielder has been huge for the German giants since his move from Juventus. He has made 39 appearances this season and has had a hand in 12 goals.
