Having won the under-21 league title with the young Red Devils, and also getting voted as best under-21 player of the season, the future continues to look bright and brighter for the calm and collected Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, and as The Daily Mirror reports, the youngster has agreed a new 4-year deal to remain at the Old Trafford. Scouts from different clubs would have surely noticed one standout trait of the 19-year-old – lack of fear. During his debut against West Brom back in November, he came off the bench and played like a veteran who was just doing something he does every weekend. Since that debut, he has made 13 appearances for the Red Devils, a figure that would have been more had it been he wasn’t sidelined at a time.
His unusual calmness should remind United faithfuls of a certain fearless Rio Ferdinand. The Red Devils legend wasn’t only fearless, he was feared as well. If the skinny Borthwick-Jackson would achieve that feat remains unseen though, but he hasn’t been fazed by EPL forwards and continues to look like a great asset for the future. The versatile defender is able to play at the centre of the defence and also on the right where he has been heavily featured. Just less than a year ago when the season began, his only plan was to hold down a starting berth in the Under-21 squad, but here is he getting trusted with senior team duties for the next 4 terms. Definitely a great potential.
