Arsenal star linked with £25m move to European giants

France international forward Olivier Giroud has been somewhat surprisingly linked with a move to Juventus this summer, with the Serie A champions apparently looking to sign a new striker, as reported by Italian publication Tuttosport.

The Frenchman is just one of their targets, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani another player atop their list. The report suggests Arsene Wenger will demand somewhere in the region of £20m-25m for his compatriot, although it seems strange that he’d even consider letting Giroud go.

Gunner really need to be signing a striker rather than letting one go, with our options at the moment fairly limited, and arguably not good enough. Danny Welbeck has shown his quality recently, but unfortunately, the former Manchester United man is far too unreliable.

French forward gets a huge amount of stick from his own fans, with many believing the 29-year-old just isn’t good enough for Arsenal. While it may well be true that we need someone better than Giroud, that doesn’t necessarily mean Gunners should be getting rid of him, they should really be adding to their strike force, not letting players leave.

Arsenal want to bring a world class striker to the club, then Giroud may not be satisfied with a spot on the bench. If he were looking to force his way out then £25m would certainly be an excellent price, but would Juventus even want to sign him?

Juventus have  Paulo Dybala, Alvaro Morata, Mario Mandzukic, and Simone Zaza on their books, so they aren’t exactly short of attacking talent. One or more of their strikers could potentially be on their way out though, and if that is the case then they could be looking to strengthen with French forward Olivier Giroud.
