The Reds and The Spurs have entered the race for Roma forward Umar Sadiq, according to reports in Italy.
African teenager has attracted interest following an impressive season in the Italian capital.
He has scored two goals in six Serie A appearances for Roma while he has found the net 19 times in 18 games for their youth teams.
The North London side have been heavily linked with Sadiq, who has been compared to ex-Gunners superstar Nwankwo Kanu, last month.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Liverpool, Tottenham, and French club Lyon are also ready to compete for his signature.
The striker is currently on loan at Roma from Serie B side Spezia but the report claims Roma plan to make his move permanent before immediately selling him on at a profit.
Gazzetta dello Sport stated that Roma will sign him for £2m but the director of football Walter Sabatini already has a list of teams who want the teenager.
It is suggested Roma will want at least £9.6m for Sadiq although last month All Nigeria Soccer claimed a fee could be considerably higher.
The source goes on to claim that Arsenal had had a £15.8m bid rejected and that it would take an offer in excess of £16m to seal a deal.
Sadiq’s agent Mohammes Laval had confirmed the Gunners had opened talks over a possible deal.
“Yes, there is interest from Arsenal but at this moment nothing is done,” Laval said.
