Manchester United look almost certain to land FC Braga midfielder, Rafa Silva this Summer after almost 2 years of trying. The Portugal international who won his club’s best player of the year award has been on the Red Devils radar for a while, and a move away from Portugal is being processed. The 22-year-old has been deservedly compared with his country legend, Deco and is being called the Primeira Liga Eden Hazard due to his performances and style of play. FC Porto are also keenly interested in landing the versatile player, but with Jorge
Mendes owing 50% of his economics right, United are favourites.
As confirmed by Sports Witness, Silva’s agent, Antônio Araújo reveals that his client is on the verge of an EPL move,
“Our client, Rafa Silva, sees with very good eyes the possibility of playing in the Premier League. We are working towards achieving this objective.”
Rafa Silva’s chances of ending up at Old Trafford would increase if Jose Mourinho is appointed handler, as the erstwhile Chelsea boss is a keen admirer of the player. He is amongst the crop of players that have been reportedly ‘reserved’ for Jose Mourinho by Mendes if the Old Trafford dugout is vacated by LVG for the Special One. He currently has a buyout clause of €20million, and United will easily activate it if he is to arrive. Silva’s versatility makes him a hot cake and he would undoubtedly be a great addition to the United ranks. He is able to play excellently well on both flanks and also through the middle.
