Liverpool have dealt a massive blow ahead of the Merseyside derby as Adam Lallana could be out for a month after he picked up a thigh strain on international duty. The Englishman missed today’s training session and reports suggest that it could be because of the injury. However Liverpool have not confirmed anything yet and it may be a case of an extra day’s rest after the international break.
None of those pictured in #LFC training today played a minute of international football. Wouldn't read too much into Lallana rumours yet.

Lallana has arguably been Liverpool’s player of the season and his absence will be immense. If the injury news turn out to be true, manager Jurgen Klopp would not be pleased one bit. This is the second time he has returned from England duty with an injury in this campaign.

Lallana started the friendly against Germany and came very close to scoring for Gareth Southgate’s side. He also played the full 90 minutes against Lithunia showing no signs of illness though. The midfielder also took to Instagram after the game looking forward to the derby this Saturday.
Klopp has been adamant that his players get a couple of training sessions under the belt before they are eligible. Liverpool’s lack of depth in the squad has been exposed lately and they cannot afford any more casualties. The manager would also hope his Brazilian duo return fit from international duty after their qualifier against Paraguay. Coutinho and Firmino hold key for the Reds as they look to continue their dominance of the Merseyside rivalry.
Other sidelined players in Henderson and Sturridge have yet to rehabilitate from their injuries. The pair look highly unlikely to be considered for a game of such high intensity. Everton have themselves suffered a setback with the horrific injury to defender Seamus Coleman.
Liverpool fans would be waiting to hear an official word from the club on the seriousness of the reports. There is no debating the fact that Lallana has been instrumental for Klopp’s men this term and this would affect their season massively.
