This 30-goal-per-season striker will arrive Old Trafford next season if Mourinho is appointed coach

How well Manchester United will fare during the Summer transfer window will be dependent on who the manager is at the time. Mourinho’s possibility of getting the coaching job at Old Trafford continues to grow stronger, and the Portuguese seems confident more than ever of landing the job. According to The Mirror, If he successfully gets the job, his former charge at Real Madrid, Gonzalo Higuain will reunite with him at the Manchester club. Manchester United have had striking issues this season, and have had to stick with teenage sensation, Marcus Rashford as the sole option upfront in recent games.

Higuain’s goalscoring form has hit an all-time high this season, with the 28-year-old Argentine registering 30 strikes in the Serie A. Across Europe’s elite leagues, his splendid number is only bettered by C.Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic, and he could still lead the goalscoring charts in Europe at the end of the season. A move away from Italy will be activated if suitors meet his release clause. He is currently worth 70 million Pounds, and Mourinho will surely add him to the Summer transfer list of to-get players for the Red Devils.

Louis van Gaal’s future at United continue to come under growing uncertainty, and even an F.A Cup trophy wouldn’t guarantee his stay. The management are keen to part ways with him, and it is believed he has no chance to land the title next Summer with the likes of Conte and Guardiola set to arrive. Giggs inexperience is counting against him, and it is widely believed only Mourinho can return the club to glory. The arrival of the 53-year-old will no doubt open doors for a couple of marquee signings, as top players will be attracted to the erstwhile Chelsea handler. That surely includes Gonzalo Higuain.
